8 December Weekly Update

Bradley, Holcombe
A blustery week that has seen the continuation of Holcombe. The Tier walling in Nordic stone has travelled to the top of the chimney and only the fiddly bits are stopping the word complete from being added.
Dean, our resident wet trades man, has now started the same material on the front extension. This should be completed before the Christmas break.
Aspect Windows are finally on site and have started the process of putting the window and door frames in before the glass arrives and we have a secure and sheltered property.
Robbie, our resident Plasterer is continuing with all the skimming requirements and doing a very good job if i may say so myself !
Plumbers & electricians are not too far away from finishing and the bathrooms not too far away from tiling.
The Omega Kitchen is in the process stage of ordering. The clients chose the Omega Kitchen after visiting Cozy Kitchens in Newton Abbot. Mitch Simpson the sales guy put together a wonderful design on the compusoft package & showed the clients all the very latest colours, along with handles types & colours, top of the range appliances by AEG appliances & a lovely Quartz worktop.
The Omega Kitchen will start in the new year. My thanks to Cozy Kitchens for all the help in putting together this mighty fine Kitchen !
The main stairs in the main hallway are ordered. 1200mm wide, with 1 x oak string (Visible) and 1 softwood string against the main internal wall. The stairs are 1200mm wide with oak newel posts, hand rail with 3 large panes of glass coming down the stairs.
The main hallway light is in. Many thanks to Cozy Kitchens. The visit to the kitchen store, also prompted the clients to look at the lighting & they came away with a 7 tear light with a 1.5m drop to look fantastic in their open hallway.
Engineered oak and coir matting has been sourced from Cozy Flooring (amazing what you can find under one roof). The main products for the new year are in place.

Penwill way, Paignton
The stairs are in ! – The purpose made stairs, slightly less pitch than a normal set of stairs, made the process of the room in the roof, that much easier as we didn’t need to open up the roof & put a crazy little dormer roof to gain the head height necessary to satisfy building regulations. This was all down to Steve Clemments, our resident carpenter and all things wood. Steve came up with the idea, when we first arrived on site & could not understand why this had not been mooted about at the early stages of design.
The wooden partitions are all in place, with rockwool RWA45 insulation sandwiched between the 2 layers of plasterboard.
The pitch & lower verticals of the roof have been insulated with a combined thickness of 130mm of PIR Insulation. The Partywall Gable has been sand & Cement rendered, to help with sound reduction, before applying timber battens, 40mm of PIR Insulation and 15mm Soundshield plasterboard.
The room in the roof is now ready for the bathroom suite, Tiles and paint, whilst the other rooms are not a million miles from a layer of plaster skim.
This fantastic project is on the homeward stretch and the smile on the clients face says it all !!

Grange road, Torquay
Apart from the Carpets & Underlay, the properties are finished. Building control in Torquay have signed off the properties and exchanging the properties to the clients is now taking place. It has been a fantastic project to get into. From the very early stages of digging out, putting in an amazing retaining wall with more steelwork & concrete than you could ever imagined to the use of the new to the UK market, the Durisol block system and beyond, this project has been a pleasure to work on & the client allowed us to crack on with the project and never interfered with the project. A pleasure all round.
